Biography
Melodie Martinez is from Mechanicsburg, PA, about 15 minutes west of Harrisburg, PA. Melodie has been interested in severe weather and storm chasing throughout childhood. Storm chasing has been a dream of hers since she was 3 years old. She was intrigued by severe weather events and has wanted to learn to accurately forecast for them while also preventing lives from being lost. She is ecstatic to be a part of a team in hopes to warn individuals of oncoming storms, creating faster forecasting times to ultimately save them from disaster. On top of her love of meteorology, Melodie also has a passion for Astronomy, being a member of the Astronomical Society of Harrisburg. Melodie is also part of the Millersville University Choir and has been singing for 15 years. In her free time, she enjoys singing, dancing, reading, spending time with friends and family, playing volleyball, and watching movies.
As a member of the TILTTING project, Melodie will be an alternate on the Chase Team, as well as helping to launch Windsonds with team members, update the website and social media pages, and attend various outreach events with the team.
